I can't believe it's been 10 years since I started Posture in Boston. I am so very grateful for your support and letting me try the new techniques on you. I have learned so much about the body, personal growth, business, bodies, and the importance of keeping the things you love close by.
I thought I'd post some highlights of the last 10 years I loved!
- In 2009 moved from Alta Ski Resort where I was working for 3 years and gained a clientele to Boston. I worked with a company for about 6 months and then a bunch of us started our own businesses. It has been such a journey with my business that I'm so shocked I'm still doing it. I am also amazed at the direction the universe has taken my focus of bodywork.
- I worked concerts and got the bug for seeing live music and realizing the artists are just regular people who have really cool lives and also get hurt and need help to do their jobs. Attending the concerts has become my way of saying thank you to the artists who make the music I use to heal my soul. I still work with artists as we cross paths, so if your need help with your throat/ voice let me know and I can help!
- I got introduced to music and art therapy in Boston and ballroom dancing in Stamford and it's helped my life be more full. This also started my self discovery journey which has continued and the last few years have been so amazing. Self awareness and acceptance has been so empowering. Also giving people their beingness and agency to be themselves and accept that has also been extremely helpful as more clients come with the desire to clear away the emotional pain which cause physical symptoms. Basically I'm a huge fan of all kinds of therapy whatever one resonates with your soul to help you be your best self. I've had many types and have learned from each one different things.
- My father, and grand parents passed away, within a couple years of each other, and I thought I was moving back to Utah to help my family but after a couple months I wasn't needed so I came back to the east coast! Lots of personal growth and learning more about grief and the process people go through as my whole family processed it differently. I ended up having a beautiful moment with my dad where I got to feel his happiness and it helped me move on and know he was with me.
- I had a client bring me to Singapore and I worked with his family, work, and friends for a month. This experience really changed my life. During this trip I got to meet some amazing people and live it up in an amazing country. I will forever be grateful to this family. This started my traveling all over the world to work on clients too. Dream big people dream big! That was the lesson I learned here as this experience started as a joke to me and then the next thing I knew I was in another country.
- I moved down to Greenwich Connecticut and have been here since. I have loved living here so close to the city and working in Stamford. I frequent Broadway, concert venues, high school plays, and the nature that is around where I live. I feel like I have the best of all worlds right now as I live in the woods, work in a great location, have NYC an hour or less away from me and the other places in New England are within a days drive.
- I have been taking so many classes from the Chikly Institute and the Upledger Institute. Everything from Lymphatic Drainage, Visceral Manipulation, Brain work, Craniosacral Therapy, and honed my skills with working with bodies. I am grateful for my clients who helped me get into those fields so I could better help them. I will be taking more this next year too. I have also learned Thai Yoga massage, Fascial Stretch Therapy, and the use of Kenisio tape, these modalities I don't use that much.
- I won a ticket to Mindbody Bold convention and fell in love with the business side of my business. This was a huge deal as I didn't like or want to deal with the business side of what I do. Give me bodies was all I wanted but now it's not. There is benefit to knowing how ones business is running. I have since gone on to attend further business classes.
- I have got to know more sports while here in the east. I have worked with Iron Man competitors, rugby, hockey players, crew/ rowers, water polo teams, ice dancer, swimmers, runners, Irish Dancers, and more. I have loved helping everyone get to perform to their best ability and go farther. One of my first clients I started with started running a mile and now he is an avid tri athlete.
- I have traveled more and had my ups and downs with work, I had my midlife crisis last year and almost quit. By bringing my mom on a road trip through New England I showed her all the things I love here and got over my crisis. I am once again obsessed with bodies and the amazing world we live in.
- I got a new website for the anniversary and grand plans I'm excited to execute for this coming year and years to come. A Youtube channel, more videos, a podcast and more.
All in all, I am so thankful for the support of you my clients and friend and my cup runneth over with gratitude for the last 10 years. I am super excited for the next 10 years.
