Thanks To You, Posture Massage Is Turning 13!

Posture Massage is now a rowdy teenager thanks to you, my many amazing clients! Several great things have happened since turning 10 years old in 2019. Here are a few great highlights:

  • I opened a new office space in Stamford!
  • I also opened an office space in Fairfield and have been able to help bring sessions to that region on Tuesdays and Thursdays!
  • I have completed my 915th client profile and am well on my way to seeing Posture Massage have over 1,000 clients!
  • My blogs are published at least once a week on Sundays and sometimes on Wednesdays, as well when I believe the blog is especially pertinent to clients!
  • I was a guest on Organic Olivia’s Podcast!
  • I was also a guest twice on the Create Joy Podcast! Check out Catrina and I discussing Your Body is Talking to You-Are You Listening? as well as our discussion on how We Can Work With Our Bodies Instead of Against Them!
  • I continued to work on my professional development and strive to stay current in an effort to bring my clients the best techniques and knowledge available. Some of my favorite courses that I took in the past 3 years were:
    • Anatomy Trains
      • Dissection Livestream Specialty Class- Abdomen and Viscera with Tom Myers and Todd Garcia (2022)
    • Chikly Institute
      • Brain 1 - How to work with the brain tissue and help down regulate the autonomic nervous system. (2020)
      • Brain 2 - Opened my eyes to the power of the Thalamus and nuclei while deepening my understanding of the midbrain and spinal cord. Increased knowledge of scoliosis treatment. (2021)
      • Brain 3 - Discovered new methods of tissue release that improve vertigo and tinnitus. Additional work with nuclei and ganglia to improve body relaxation. (2021)
      • Brain, Cranial Rhythm, and Bone Marrow - learned about the subtle but powerful connection between the brain, bones, and cranial rhythm in balancing the body. (2020)
      • Brain Reflex - How to integrate the 28 childhood reflexes in adults. Sometimes the things we do are from the reflexes which haven't been integrated. (2020)
      • COVID Protocol with Brain Reflexes - there are usually 3 reflexes which have been triggered in adults during this pandemic. Learned how to reintegrate them. (2020)
      • Voice Dysfunctions, Larynx/ Pharynx Post-Intubation or Post surgical Problems, Tongue-Tie/ Ankyloglossia - help loosen tightness in the tongue and throat caused by illnesses and surgeries, relieving tension in the chest, neck and head. (2020)

Personal Accomplishments, New Perspectives & Lessons Learned:

  • One of the highlights of this past year was being able to attend a wonderful retreat in Italy where I was able to learn about healing my brain, reconnected with myself on a deeper level, and got to make new friends with several like-minded women! If anyone has the opportunity and ability to attend a retreat with Nina Passaro, I highly recommend it!
  • I learned first-hand what extreme stress does to bodies and had to learn new techniques to mitigate that for myself and clients. I learned it definitely takes a team to help people deal with their stress. We are not islands and need a group of people and practitioners to guide us through stressful times, as well as to help our bodies/brains heal. This team can help infuse us with energy and support when we are facing challenges.
  • Vitamin F is essential! Vitamin F, or fun, is key in keeping us happy and healthy. I try to incorporate vitamin fun in my day to day by doing things such as dancing, being light-hearted, playing, socializing, going to movies, jumping on a trampoline, skipping down the street, or basically any way that you play. Try to remember what it was like to play as a child and incorporate that into our daily lives! It is too easy to take life too seriously and we all need to lighten up!
  • I learned that the brain is so much more amazing than I ever realized. Every time I attend a new class, I am amazed at how much the brain can do. In fact, I would say it is mind-boggling, pardon the pun!
I learned how to do “Soul Collaging” and find it therapeutic. Ask me about it in your next session if you are interested!
  • I learned a lot about boundaries and that working too much is very detrimental to life. I essentially allowed myself to burn out and had to figure out balance so that I have time to recoup and regain my own energies. This way I am better able to help myself and my clients.
  • When visiting friends in Germany, I spent time with a great 7 year old who got so animated when telling his stories and experiences that I realized that we all need to get excited about the stories we have in our lives. Retell your stories and remember how amazing you are and how funny your life is!
  • During the pandemic I really felt the loss of not being able to attend concerts and plays. I soon found that when I was missing concerts, if I blasted music while driving around, it would heal my soul and infuse me with joy. I can only imagine what people were thinking as my car drove by blasting a literal concert through the streets of New England and the woods near my home. These concertos sponsored by my Subaru were a highlight in such an isolating time!

What to expect from Posture Massage this coming year and into the future?

I look forward to the future and am humbled at the opportunity to continue pursuing my passion of helping others connect with their bodies and heal! My goal is to expand my reach to help spread my knowledge and the gift of body and brain work to more people. This may take on the form of doing more social media posts, continuing to publish blogs, hopefully to move forward with my own series of videos/podcasts, and the ability to host retreats and workshops where many clients can learn techniques and principles of body and brain work in a synergistic setting. Stay tuned!

Again, I humbly thank all of you, my clients, for your trust in me, your support, your life lessons, and especially for the wonderful laughs and tears we experience together! Cheers to another great 13 years!!
