Negative Spirals Downward

We have all been there, we woke up grumpy or something small did not go our way and suddenly it seems like the Universe has conspired against us. We feel like we have suddenly become a negativity magnet. If anything could go wrong, it does! What started out as a neutral day has become a horrible, “can I please skip today” kind of day. This is a real phenomenon! I’m sure you are hoping that I will say, “Don’t worry it wasn’t your fault” but alas, worry! It was your fault! How is it your fault? The Stories We Tell Ourselves

Not only do we tell stories to those around us and in our lives, we also tell stories to ourselves. Our self-talk and conversations within our own heads are often stories or pieces of stories. Our stream of consciousness is a story, not always coherent or flowing perfectly, but a story just the same. What happens when we are presented with situations or facts that don’t come with full explanations or have pieces missing? As you read this I hope you realize, well that is simply not true, all human beings need help and should be able to heal from trauma and stress. Read More

We have all likely had the experience of becoming unsettled or our minds spinning because of some “drama” or something that has occurred in our lives. These times can be quite painful and upsetting.
